Baby Gospel Family Concert – Windrush Day | Hackney | 1.45pm

We’re delighted to bring Baby Gospel to Hackney, to celebrate Windrush Day 2024!

Baby Gospel is an uplifting family concert of soul, Motown and gospel music, featuring the astonishing vocal talents of London’s CK Gospel Choir.

The whole family can enjoy singing and clapping along to hits by Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley, Adele, Jackie Wilson, Pharrell and more – as well as some traditional Gospel songs and nursery rhymes!

This will be a 30 minute performance as part of a programme of events including Poet Chloe Carterr, One Drum Foundation, reggae legends Jah Bunny All Stars Band and acts from talented young residents due to perform at this year’s Hackney Carnival. Face-painting and information from the Claudia Jones Organisation, Hackney Libraries and Archives and Made In Hackney will also be available on the day.

CK Gospel Choir are a versatile professional group from London who are united by their love of gospel music and have provided backing for artists such as Beverley Knight, Peter Andre and Alfie Boe.

A free intergenerational event for all the family and open to all.

Doors open at 1:45PM

Event ends at 3:45PM

This event is hosted by Hackney Council to honour and celebrate the contributions of the Windrush Generation.

Open to all ages.

VENUE & TRANSPORT

St John’s Church in Hackney is close to Hackney Central station and is well served by buses. This venue is full accessible and has baby changing on site.
